Peter Burden
Associate Director and Head of the Family Department
Telephone01926 857631

I joined Mander Hadley in 2019 as an Associate Director and Head of the Family Department.

I am experienced in all areas of family law, including divorce, financial remedy claims, disputes over children, separation agreements, cohabitation disputes, pre and post nuptial agreements, living together agreements, non-molestation orders and occupation orders.

I have strong experience in acting in high-net-worth cases and cases involving businesses and pensions. My experience includes conducting cases in the High Court, County Court and Family Proceedings Court.

I am a Resolution Accredited Specialist and a Member of the Law Society Family Law Panel.  My focus is on helping clients to achieve an outcome that works for them and their family in what can be a stressful time. I will assist, explain and support you through any proceedings that are necessary.

Additionally, I am an Accredited Family Mediator and am qualified to undertake Child Inclusive Mediations, acting as an impartial third party to help couples make decisions about their and their families’ futures as they separate without the cost and conflict of court hearings.

After Graduating from Sheffield University, I qualified as a Solicitor in 1988. I initially worked in the Midlands before moving to Wales to head up the Family Department of a large legal firm. I returned to the Midlands in 1998 and became a Partner with a Birmingham-based law firm in 2003.

Away from the office, I enjoy walking, latin american and ballroom dancing and spending time with my family.
