Mander Hadley Celebrates 125-Years of Legal Services!

On Wednesday 17^th June 2026, we celebrated 125-years of legal services in Coventry, Kenilworth and surrounding areas.

The firm gathered for a celebratory BBQ and drinks at Coventry’s Telegraph Hotel Rooftop Bar to celebrate the momentous occasion.

Our Managing Director, Carl Jones, opened the celebration with a speech and brief history of the firm dating back to 1901 when the firm was founded by Harry Iliffe Mander. In 1928 Walter Hadley joined forces with Harry and ‘Mander Hadley Solicitors’ was born. We moved to our current head office at 1 The Quadrant, Coventry in 1957 where we still practice from today, together with our offices in Kenilworth.

The Mander family remained strong generational Solicitors of the firm and we were joined by David Mander, Grandson to Harry Mander for our celebrations, he and his brother Peter were both Solicitors at Mander Hadley for many years before retiring. Sadly, Peter Mander died in 2023 but his legacy still lives on today.

Also joining the celebrations were our past Managing Director Jonathan Hall who retired in 2024 and Andrew Sharp who was a partner of the firm before stepping back in 2015 and continuing as a consultant until retirement.

Coventry has a strong history of training and developing their staff with many staff members having worked for the firm for decades, most notably Julie Maclean, Jenny Jones and Jane Jones who collectively have served 170  years of service as essential support staff to the firm. Three of our four Directors, Carl Jones, Elizabeth Jennings and Matthew Riding all trained and qualified with the firm and we’ve seen many more qualifications throughout the years too which is testament to the firm’s commitment to their employee’s personal and professional growth. We currently have one trainee Solicitor, Javairia Bi in our Residential Conveyancing Department who will be due to qualify in 2028 and we wish her the best of luck during her training.

Today, the firm is committed to providing top legal services in Coventry, Warwickshire and beyond, specialising in Civil Litigation, Family Law, Residential Property, Commercial Property and Private Client matters, we are a full service law firm who are eager to help in any way we can to make legal services as smooth as possible to help our clients through difficult times, or complete important transactional deals.

In addition to providing legal services, we also endeavour to help raise awareness and funds for local charities where donations will make a big difference. In the past few years, we have supported ‘Coventry and Warwickshire Air Ambulance’, ‘Myton Hospice’, ‘SOS Silence of Suicide’, ‘The Friendship Project for Children’ and as our ‘Charity of the Year’ for 2025-2026 we’re supporting the ‘Our Jay Foundation’ raising money so more life saving defibrillators can be installed in local areas. In raising funds our staff have taken part in huge challenges such as the Three Peaks challenge, and smaller events such as an Inflatable 5km obstacle course, and lots of firm-wide Bake Off’s, sweepstakes and raffles raising invaluable funds for great causes.

There are not many firms who can say they have been independently practicing in the heart of Coventry City Centre for 125-years and we will continue to serve our clients for many more years to come, we’re not going anywhere!
